Landry hired as Troy cornerbacks coach

Dustin Landry has been named cornerbacks coach at Troy.

Landry spent last season as defensive coordinator at Navarro College, a Corsicana, Tex. junior college. At Navarro, Landry’s defense finished the year 13th in the NJCAA allowing just 256.3 years per game. The Bulldogs finished 10-2 on the year and ranked No. 4 in the nation.

Landry spent the four years prior to that with Gene Chizik and Wayne Bolt at Iowa State and Auburn as a graduate assistant and quality control specialist. He began as defensive graduate assistant at Iowa State in 2008, then moved to Auburn as GA coaching linebackers (2009), the secondary (2010) and the nickel and dime packages (2011).

“I’ve had the opportunity to coach with Dustin for four of the past five years and he is one of bright young coaches in this profession,” Troy defensive coordinator Wayne Bolt said. “He has learned from some of the top defensive coaches in the country and is a true student of the game.”
