Miami gets All-Big East transfer punter

[dropcap]M[/dropcap]iami released its post-spring depth chart Monday and there was a surprise — Cincinnati’s Pat O’Donnell was listed as the No. 1 punter.

A senior from Palm Beach, Fla. who has already graduated from UC, O’Donnell hasn’t practiced with the Hurricances.

He hadn’t even been announced as a transfer.

O’Donnell was the Bearcats’ primary punter the past three seasons. He was named first team All-Big East in 2011, when he averaged 43.8 yards per punt. He was second team All-Big East in 2012, averaging 41.8 yards per punt, while putting 23 kicks inside the 20-yard line.

According to Tommy Tuberville, O’Donnell transferred to be closer to his family.
