[dropcap]O[/dropcap]regon State defensive tackle Siale Hautau, who suffered a broken hand in practice Tuesday, will miss the rest of spring.

JC transfer Siale Hautau was No. 1 on Oregon State's depth chart.

Siale Hautau is expected to a major contributor at defensive tackle.

The 6-foot-1, 320-pound Hautau was a mid-year junior college transfer who had risen to the top of the depth chart.

“Hopefully, he’ll have time at the end of May to condition himself for the season,” head coach Mike Riley told the Corvallis Gazette Times.

According to the Gazette Times, Hautau has already had surgery and was back on the sidelines Thursday with his left arm in a sling.

Rivals.com rated the Snow College (Utah) transfer a 3-star and the nation’s No. 65 junior college transfer last season.

“We’ll be OK for now,” Riley said. “We have enough depth there.
