Former four-star Nebraska player Brion Carnes transferring to Northern Iowa

carnes[dropcap]B[/dropcap]rion Carnes, a four-star member of Nebraska’s 2010 signing class, has announced that he will transfer to Northern Iowa.

On his Facebook page Wednesday, Carnes announced that he plans to transfer to Northern Iowa.

Northern Iowa plays at the FCS level, making Carnes eligible to play immediately this season.

In 2011, Carnes (6-1, 200) was primary backup to quarterback Taylor Martinez. He moved to wide receiver before the 2012 season, but did not see the playing field.

Rivals.com rated Carnes the nation’s No. 7 dual threat quarterback out of Manatee High School in Bradenton, Fla.
