Arizona steals 2013 late addition away from South Florida
[dropcap]A[/dropcap]rizona has snatched a late addition to its 2013 class out from under South Florida’s nose.
Jarvis McCall, a safety from Seffner (Fla.) Armwood who signed with USF in 2012 but failed to qualify academically, has decided to play for Arizona instead.
McCall reportedly improved his SAT scored and has received a go from the NCAA Clearinghouse. If that is indeed the case, he will be eligible to play for the Wildcats in 2013.
The 6-foot-2, 185-pound McCall was rated a 3-star recruit and the nation’s No. 51 safety by Rivals.
According to the Arizona Daily Star, he’s expected to report to Tucson early next month for summer school and workouts.
It looked like the Wildcats had reached their scholarship limit for 2013, but with McCall coming on board it appears that at least one signee will not qualify academically.
McCall had scholarship offers from Vanderbilt, Indiana, UCF and Florida International out of high school.
