Rex Dausin was a prolific passer and runner out of San Antonio Warren High.

Dausin announced earlier this week on Twitter that he had signed with the FCS school, allowing him to be eligible to play immediately.

He redshirted last season at Houston and will have four years to play four.

Duasin completed 3 of 4 passes for 28 yards in Houston’s spring game, but received significantly less reps than returning starter David Piland and senior Bram Kohlhausen.

Practice reps at QB will be scarce this fall with the arrival of junior college transfer Billy Cosh, highly-regarded high school signee John O’Korn, and athlete Greg Ward, who is expected to get first look at quarterback.

Additionally, transfers Calvin Garrett (Bucknell) and T.J. Menning (Portland State) will be eligible in 2014.

The 6-foot-2, 203-pound Dausin signed with the Cougars as a 2-star recruit out of San Antonio (Texas) Warren.

Dausin posted impressive numbers in Warren’s spread offense. As a senior, he threw for 3,310 yards and 34 touchdowns and also rushed for 564 yards and 15 TDs. He was voted the district 27-5A Offensive MVP.
