UCLA wide receiver Kenneth Walker to miss 2013 season
[dropcap]U[/dropcap]CLA sophomore wide receiver Kenneth Walker will miss the 2013 season after undergoing back surgery, according to a Los Angeles Times report.
While Walker flashed explosiveness in the spring, he also struggled with consistency catching the ball and was not expected to be in the mix for a starting job this fall.
Senior Shaq Evans (6-1, 211), the Bruins leading receiver with 877 yards in 2012, returns and sophomore Jordan Payton (6-1, 210) is expected to start opposite Evans. Fellow sophomores Devin Fuller (5-11, 184) and Devin Lucien (6-0, 192) are also expected to play big roles.
UCLA signed a trio of receivers in February, including consensus 4-star recruits Thomas Duarte (6-3, 225) and Eldridge Massington (6-3, 205).
Walker, a 3-star recruit in 2012 out of Richmond (Calif.) John F. Kennedy High, is expected to redshirt and return in 2014 with three seasons to play three.
