Tulsa reserve QB Kalen Henderson to transfer

[dropcap]W[/dropcap]ith redshirt freshman Dane Evans taking over the No. 2 behind senior Cody Green this spring, Tulsa reserve quarterback Kalen Henderson has decided to transfer.

hendersonA redshirt junior, Henderson (6-0,210 ) saw action in 11 games in 2011 and 2012.

He completed just 32 percent of his passes (24 of 75) for 416 yards, with four touchdowns against six interceptions. With Green out due to injury, he started TU’s win over Rice last season.

According to the Tulsa World, Henderson could be considering a transfer to Nicholls State, whose campus is just 30 miles from his hometown of Mt. Airy, La.

If he did transfer to Nicholls or another FCS program, Henderson would be eligible immediately and have two years to play two.

With Henderson’s departure, the Golden Hurricanes still have five scholarship quarterbacks on the roster, including 2013 signees Jaylen Lowe of Owasso, Okla. and Ryan Rubley of Mountain Vista, Colo.
