JP Vonashek (Photo: Melissa Harmon / GoGamecocks.com)South Carolina freshman offensive lineman J.P. Vonashek has left the program.

Vonashek, a 2013 signee, started the season as the Gamecocks’ No. 2 right tackle, but was not listed on the most recent two-deep depth chart.

A school spokesperson confirmed the departure to GoGamecocks.com, but no reason was given for the departure.

A 3-star recruit out of Camden County High School in Brunswick, Ga., the 6-foot-7, 275-pound Vonashek originally chose South Carolina over offers from Georgia, Auburn, Florida State and Miami, among others.

There was no word on if or where he intends to transfer.
